Our beliefs have a powerful impact on our lives

How often do you hear old worn-out stories in your mind that say “You can’t, or you’re not allowed to do something you have always wanted to do? Either it’s because you’re in fear of doing that thing or someone told you that you can’t or that it’s impossible.

Limiting beliefs are a set of self-imposed mental blocks that prevent us from achieving our goals and reaching our full potential. Or we pick up these beliefs along our path through family, friends, partners, or co-workers. They can be deeply rooted in our subconscious, and without recognizing them, and as a result, we can fall into a cycle of self-sabotage. By understanding what limiting beliefs are, we can take the necessary steps to identify and overcome them in order to unlock personal growth and success.

Our beliefs shape our lives, and yet so many of us hold onto limiting beliefs that keep us from fully living the life we “desire” to experience. Whether it's an old habit that's hard to break or a negative mindset that keeps us stuck in the past, it can be difficult to recognize and let go of these beliefs. But with practice and giving yourself permission to move past these limiting beliefs you can break free from them.

  5. Follow a belief change process - this will help ensure that the changes stick, so you can move forward with greater clarity and purpose!

Be intentional when letting go

Releasing limiting beliefs is an important part of the self-empowerment journey. It helps us to break free from mental and emotional blocks, it can lead to increased confidence, improved relationships, a greater sense of self-worth, and emotional freedom.

For me, letting go of limiting beliefs was a process that required me to be intentional and dedicated to the outcome. There were challenges along the way and many times I wanted to give up. However, I wanted “freedom” more than I wanted the insanity of those limiting beliefs. Don’t get me wrong, at times I can still fall short with the “old stories” and I find the courage to take action to shift those beliefs and do something different.

You can start this journey today by becoming aware of your thoughts and replacing the negative ones with positive ones that feed your soul and give life to you. With a bit of practice, you can cultivate an attitude of gratitude and joy in your life that empowers you.
